ACCESS: Transnational Project Meeting in Lithuania

On September 25 and 26, 2025, the partners of the European project ACCESS “Addressing Critical Speech Therapist Shortage in Schools” met in Lithuania for a Transnational Project Meeting, hosted in Vilnius and Joniškis, Lithuania.

The meeting brought together project partners to review progress, exchange expertise and plan the next steps of implementation. ACCESS focuses on supporting primary school teachers in identifying and addressing learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia at an early stage, while also strengthening the role of families in the learning process. During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to explore educational and support environments connected to the project’s objectives. These visits provided valuable insights into how inclusive education and therapeutic support can be implemented in practice, reinforcing the importance of early intervention and a holistic approach to learning.

The working sessions focused on the development of the project’s main results, including the ACCESS Digital Library, which will offer practical resources and tools for teachers and parents. In addition, partners discussed the preparation of the upcoming piloting phase, where the project’s materials will be tested in real classroom settings. The meeting also contributed to strengthening cooperation among the consortium, ensuring a shared understanding of the project’s goals and methodology. For ETHOS HUB, participation in the meeting further supported its contribution in areas such as speech therapy, special education and family support, aligning with the project’s aim to promote inclusive and supportive learning environments.

The ACCESS Project is a targeted initiative aimed at improving early identification and support for children aged 6–10 with learning difficulties (LDs) such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. Recognizing the growing prevalence of LDs and the importance of early intervention, ACCESS empowers primary school teachers with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to detect and manage emerging learning challenges within mainstream classrooms. The project also provides parents with practical guidance to support their children’s learning at home. By fostering strong collaboration between educators and families, ACCESS promotes inclusive education and strives to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full academic and social potential. Read more at https://access-edu.eu/
