The ACCESS project is pleased to introduce the ACCESS Toolkit for Parents, a practical resource designed to support families in understanding and addressing learning difficulties in children aged 6–10.
Parents play a crucial role in their children’s educational development. However, recognizing learning challenges and knowing how to provide appropriate support can often be difficult. The ACCESS Toolkit aims to bridge this gap by offering accessible information, practical strategies, and guidance that parents can use in their everyday lives.
The toolkit helps parents better understand learning difficulties and provides tools that promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive home learning environment. Through clear explanations and practical advice, families can develop greater confidence in supporting their children’s educational journey.
The materials included in the toolkit focus on:
- Understanding learning difficulties and their characteristics.
- Recognizing early signs that may require additional support.
- Creating supportive learning environments at home.
- Strengthening communication and collaboration between parents and schools.
- Encouraging children’s confidence, motivation, and emotional well-being.
- Applying practical strategies that support learning in everyday situations.
The ACCESS Toolkit emphasizes that every child learns differently and that early understanding and supportive interventions can significantly contribute to educational success and well-being.
Together with the ACCESS Digital Library and the online course “ACCESS in Learning Difficulties”, the toolkit forms part of the project’s integrated approach to promoting inclusive education and supporting children, families, and educators.
By providing practical resources, expert guidance, and accessible information, the ACCESS Toolkit empowers parents to actively participate in their children’s learning process and to help create positive educational experiences both at home and at school.
