On May 6–7, 2025, partners of the FOCUS project “Foreign Language Opportunities for Children with Unique Skills” gathered in Nicosia, Cyprus, for the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting (TPM). The meeting was hosted at Global College and warmly organised by the Cypriot partners COMCY and OLYMPION.

The meeting marked an important milestone in the project’s implementation, focusing on the development and evaluation of the FOCUS educational digital games. These innovative tools are designed to support inclusive foreign language learning by addressing the diverse needs of students, including those with learning difficulties. Particular emphasis is placed on adaptability, ensuring that the games can be used across different age groups while enhancing key language skills such as vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension. At the same time, transversal skills, such as memory, decision-making, and problem-solving, are actively integrated into the learning process.

In addition to the digital tools, partners initiated the planning of the next major project result: the “FOCUS in Foreign Languages” Online Training Course for teachers. Discussions centred on the structure of the course, learning objectives, and how it will equip educators with practical methodologies for inclusive foreign language teaching.

The meeting also included a review of the project’s overall progress, confirming the strong collaboration and commitment among partners. The FOCUS consortium continues to work effectively and proactively, building on a shared vision and a continuous exchange of knowledge and experience.

Beyond the working sessions, partners had the opportunity to experience the cultural heritage of Nicosia through a guided tour and a traditional Cypriot dinner. These moments contributed to strengthening the partnership and fostering a positive and collaborative team spirit.

With each milestone, the FOCUS project moves closer to its goal of empowering educators with innovative tools and approaches, making foreign language learning more inclusive, accessible, and engaging for all learners.
